The Business: The Art of Money

The Art of Money is not a Dealer but an Agent and is therefore able to give independent advice to clients.

Currently, the firm offers the following services either directly or through our professional network:

Advice on how best to sell works of art. Options include: private treaty sales with their tax advantages; auction sales with the publicity and competition they can generate; or a sale to an overseas museum or collector.
Buying works of art through any source, carrying out research and due diligence as to authenticity, condition and provenance, as well as negotiation of sale price and supervision of delivery on behalf of clients. This is done with the utmost discretion.
Heritage Issues
Negotiation of offers to the nation of works of art in lieu of inheritance tax and private treaty sales. We also handle chattel rental negotiations.
Valuations and other services
Provision of valuations for insurance, probate, gift and sale purposes. Advice on the management of a collection, including conservation, investment, museum loans and bequests, family art distribution, framing, hanging, storage and transportation. We also advise on the import and export of works of art.

The Art of Money has developed in response to a growing need within the art market for independent, specialist, professional advice to guide owners, trustees and those acting for them through an increasingly complex and difficult field.
